Princess Adelaide spent a lot of time on the mountain behind
the castle, and she was used to wild animals. Once she had even seen a wolf. But she had never seen a dragon before. This
one was just a baby. Maybe she could make
friends with it! She had some food in her pocket.
“What does a baby dragon eat?” she wondered. She moved a bit closer. It could move as fast as lightning when it wanted to, she had seen that when she walked around that boulder down the slope and surprised the poor thing.
She had spent close to an hour carefully tracking it, inching closer and closer, and now she was within a few feet of the darling creature.
“They say dragons are dangerous, but you sure are adorable” she whispered. Then she stretched out her hand with food for the little dragon and inched just a little closer…
